SWRDA leads the development of a sustainable economy in the South West, of England, investing to unlock the region's business potential.

To address the challenges of their core strategy the most important things that the RDA will do in the next three years are:

  • Provide vision, direction and leadership on the region's economy;
  • Support business and encourage enterprise;
  • Enable the development of a low carbon, resource efficient economy;
  • Encourage science and innovation;
  • Help people acquire the skills the economy needs;
  • Plan for growth and create successful places;
  • Enable the development of the region's communications infrastructure.

Major projects funded by the South West RDA in Cornwall include the Eden Project.

The Eden Project has an iconic international profile. It is an educational charity, a world class visitor attraction, a botanical garden and a unique social enterprise venture. The RDA has invested £8 million in Eden and continues to support this project. The Quinn Partnership acted as advisors to SWRDA.
