Referencing management teams is a key element of Management Due Diligence best practice and will ideally be carried out in parallel to the structured interviewing and profiling work. This is essential for MBI Candidates and relatively new additions to the management team.
Referees can be both named (nominated by the referee) and unnamed (identified through research). Ideally the outputs from the structured interviewing and profiling can be used to develop an insightful and dynamic discussion with referees. However such an exercise will be shaped by a sensible and pragmatic approach to the pace of the deal and completion date.
