Succession success for Inflexion Private Equity

31st January 2014

The Quinn Partnership, Management Due Diligence specialists, has advised Inflexion Private Equity on its recent investment in Succession Holdings Limited, taking a majority stake in the wealth management business.

Founded in 2009, Succession delivers bespoke financial advice to private and corporate clients alongside operating a client asset custody platform. Employing 110 people throughout the UK, Succession also has 62 member firms and advises on more than £8bn of assets.

Inflexion’s investment has rewarded them with a 50.1% stake, and will be used to support Succession’s vision of creating the UK’s largest independent wealth management business through a focused buy-and-build growth strategy.

Managing Partner at Inflexion, Simon Turner said: “We’re excited to be investing in the UK’s resurgent financial services market, backing this ambitious team who have created a strong business and robust operating platform. We look forward to working with them to help deliver their vision and fulfil their acquisition strategy.”

Simon Chamberlain, Group Chief Executive Officer of Succession, comments: “Having a majority shareholder with the credentials of Inflexion demonstrates the power of the Succession model. The Group owns an open architecture platform, which administers over £1.7bn of assets; volumes are growing at 5% per month. Our business is on target to achieve its goal of acquiring the best 50 of our member firms between now and 2017.

“With the strength and support of one of the leading private-equity houses behind us, we will be able to exploit other opportunities in the market-place as old-style nationals and networks become more and more distressed.”

Paul Quinn, Director at The Quinn Partnership said: “This is an experienced team who will work very well with Inflexion. The partnership has the potential to ensure that the business will meet the demands of the plan and fulfil their very clear vision.”
